Woman or Man – Part 2

Jesus said: "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."  Matthew 11:28-30

 

1 - Learn about relationships

Prov 11:12  It is foolish to belittle a neighbor; a person with good sense remains silent (=holds his tongue).NLT     

Prov 12:18 Reckless words pierce like a sword, but the tongue of the wise brings healing.       

Prov 15:1 A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.     

Col 3:13-14 Be gentle and ready to forgive; never hold grudges. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others.  Most of all, let love guide your life.TLB

 

2 – Learn about friendship

Prov 11:13 A gossip goes around revealing secrets, but those who are trustworthy can keep a confidence.NLT

Prov 12:26 A righteous man is cautious in friendship,  but the way of the wicked leads them astray.       

1 Cor 15:33-34 "Bad company corrupts good character." Come to your senses and stop sinning. NLT

Prov 13:20 He who walks with the wise grows wise, but a companion of fools suffers harm.

Prov 27:6 Faithful are the wounds of a friend, But the kisses of an enemy are deceitful.

 

3 - Learn about making right choices

Prov 13:13 He who scorns instruction will pay for it, but he who respects a command is rewarded.

Prov 11:8 The righteous man is rescued from trouble, and it comes on the wicked instead.

Prov 13:18 If you ignore criticism, you will end in poverty and disgrace; if you accept criticism, you will be honored.NLT

 

4 - Learn about GodŐs provisions

Prov 11:24 It is possible to give freely and become more wealthy, but those who are stingy will lose everything.NLT

Prov 12:11 He who works his land will have abundant food, but he who chases fantasies lacks judgment.

Prov 13:11 Dishonest money dwindles away, but he who gathers money little by little makes it grow.

Prov 14:23 All hard work brings a profit, but mere talk leads only to poverty.

Prov 15:27 A greedy man brings trouble to his family, but he who hates bribes will live.

Prov 15:16-17 Better a little with the fear of the LORD than great wealth with turmoil.  Better a meal of vegetables where there is love than a fattened calf with hatred.

 

5 - Learn about helping the needy

Prov 14:31 Whoever is kind to the needy honors God.

Prov 14:20 To despise the poor is to sin. Blessed are those who help them.TLB

Prov 19:17 He who is kind to the poor lends to the LORD, and he will reward him for what he has done.

Rev 3:20 (Jesus said) ŇHere I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me.Ó
