Where Are You in the Crowd?
1- Heeding him
Luke19:29-34(Jesus) sent two of his disciples, saying to them, "Go to the villageahead of you, and as you enter it, you will find a colt tied there, which noone has ever ridden. Untie it and bring it here. If anyone asks you, 'Why are you untying it?' tell him, 'TheLord needs it.'" Those whowere sent ahead went and found it just as he had told them. As they wereuntying the colt, its owners asked them, "Why are you untying thecolt?" They replied, "The Lord needs it."
Acts22:6-10(PaulŐs encounter with the risen Christ) "About noon as I came nearDamascus, suddenly a bright light from heaven flashed around me. I fell to theground and heard a voice say to me, 'Saul! Saul! Why do you persecute me?'
2- Hailing him
Luke19:37-38When he came near the place where the road goes down the Mount of Olives, thewhole crowd of disciples began joyfully to praise God in loud voices for allthe miraclesthey had seen: "Blessed is the king who comes in the name of theLord!"
Ps 100:2-5
Worshipthe LORD with gladness;
comebefore him with joyful songs.
Knowthat the LORD is God.
Itis he who made us, and we are his;
weare his people, the sheep of his pasture.
Enterhis gates with thanksgiving
andhis courts with praise;
givethanks to him and praise his name.
Forthe LORD is good and his love endures forever;
hisfaithfulness continues through all generations.
3- Hating him
Matt12:14The Pharisees went out and plotted how they might kill Jesus.
Luke19:39-40Some of the Pharisees in the crowd said to Jesus, "Teacher, rebuke your disciples!" "I tell you," hereplied, "if they keep quiet, the stones will cry out."
Matt21:14-16The blind and the lame came to him at the temple, and he healed them. But whenthe chief priests and the teachers of the law saw the wonderful things he did andthe children shouting in the temple area, "Hosanna to the Son ofDavid," they were indignant. "Doyou hear what these children are saying?" they asked him. "Yes,"replied Jesus, "have you never read, "'From the lips of children andinfants you have ordained praise'?"
Matt15:6-9(Jesus said) You nullify the word of God for the sake of your tradition. Youhypocrites! Isaiah was right when he prophesied about you:
'Thesepeople honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me.
Theyworship me in vain; their teachings are but rules taught by men.'
4- Hounded by him
Luke19:45-46
1Cor 6:19-20Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you,whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at aprice. Therefore honor God with your body.
