Sermon based Community Groups

"Therefore encourage one another and build each other up . . ."  1 Thessalonians 5:11

God's desire for us is to grow spiritually.  Spiritual maturity is best summarized by Jesus in Matthew 22:37-39.  These verses summarize the whole of God's will for us in the two greatest commandments: First, love the Lord our God with all our heart, soul, and mind. Second, Love our neighbor as ourselves.

Community groups will help you grow in your love for God and others as you dig deeper into God's Word, fellowship with other Christians, and support one another in prayer.  You will find a safe place to be yourself; to laugh, cry, and share your burdens or struggles.  It is a place in which you will be encouraged and equipped to become a maturing follower of Christ as you and those in your group meet together.

If you do not already belong to a Community Group, we invite you to take the next step and give it a try.

COMMUNITY GROUP VALUES
  1. Relationships:  The primary objective of Community Groups is to build long-term relationships in which members help and encourage each other in their spiritual growth.
  2. Authenticity:  The atmosphere of a Community Group encourages openness and transparency among its members.
  3. Confidentiality:  For people to feel safe in being open and transparent, members need to have confidence that things shared in a Community Group will not be shared outside the group.
  4. Respect:  Group members should never do or say anything that would embarrass their spouse or other members of the group.
  5. Availability:  Building authentic community requires prioritizing relationships.  This means being available and willing to help one another in times of need.
